Okay. Anyone who knows anything about me at all should know this was going on my blog some time. The first time I saw this movie was with my cousins, and I'm pretty sure I cried through the entire thing. This song gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it. Christine Daae, a rising opera star, finds herself in a love triangle between Raoul, her childhood friend and sweetheart, and the Phantom, a mysterious, slightly psychopathic man who has a gentle, tender, loving side and taught her to sing like an angel. Throughout the movie, mysterious murders happen and threatening letters are sent. Christine knows that the Phantom is responsible for all of this and that the Phantom might try to kidnap her. Raoul does all in his power to keep her safe from harm. It all leads up to the Phantom composing an opera and forcing all the people at the opera house to perform it. During the opera, he takes the place of one of the actors and kidnaps Christine. Raoul goes down to the dark, wet areas beneath the opera house to save her, and the Phantom tells Christine that she can either stay with him forever and let Raoul live, or she can be free and Raoul will be killed. The final scene was tragic and sad, but extremely beautiful. Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote the musical. The songs are awe inspiring and really moved me. Team Phantom! :)
