Okay, I know I've already done a post about Les Miserables, but I just love it and I find myself incapable of NOT writing some more about it! I found myself singing the songs in my closet the other day... long story. Anyway, one of my favorite parts in the movie is the Heart Full Of Love scene at Rue Plumet. I didn't really like Cosette until this part. Eponine's side of the story is heartbreaking, and I just wanted to shout in the theater "Come on, Marius; can't you see that she LOVES you?!" However, when Eponine and Marius arrived at Rue Plumet and Cosette walked up to the gate with nothing but innocence and wonder on her face and Marius looked into her eyes with joy, I started to see that they really had fallen in love at first sight. Then they started singing and a butterfly fluttered and landed on the gate and fluttered its wings. (Seriously, what is this, a Disney movie?) I actually started to like the idea of them ending up together until Eponine joined in and started singing. Then my heart started hurting again and the song ended with that one beautiful, really high-pitched note (which is really hard to sing in the shower, thanks a lot), I was happy and sad at the same time. After the movie ended (and my tear ducts were completely emptied), I started to think about the way that it would not be nearly as good if it was just a play with no music (and the fact that Eponine should have married Enjolras!). The music added so much feeling to the story! Anyway, these are the confessions of a fangirl. :)
