Nymphadora Tonks is probably one of my favorite Harry Potter characters. She comes from Hufflepuff and she is a metamorphagus, which means she has the ability to change her appearance at will. She often causes her hair to appear in crazy colors like pink, red (when she's angry) and blue! She wears steampunk clothes and hates it when people call her Nymphadora. She prefers to be called "Tonks." Inspired by her metamorphagus abilities, she decided to become an Auror (one who catches dark wizards.) She says in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix that she passed the disguise portion of the Auror exams easily. At the beginning of that book, she comes to rescue Harry and accompany him to the headquarters of the Order. I like her because she is so epic, but she is also very clumsy! She trips over everything! Tonks is a perfect example of Hufflepuff's reputation. She is kind, funny, friendly, and loyal to Harry and everyone in the Order.
Some people point and laugh at Hufflepuff. Personally, I admire Hufflepuff the most (okay, maybe I'm a little biased!) Seriously, though. The Hufflepuff house is known for being loyal, accepting, hard-working, and friendly. These are all fantastic traits to have! What would the world be like if no one was friendly, no one worked, and no one was loyal? It would be crazy! I don't know what I would do without my friends. The Bible talks about the value of true friendship. In Proverbs 17:17, it says that true friends stick together in all kinds of weather. In John 15:13, it says that there is no greater love than to die for friends. Loyaty is a huge theme in the Bible. As Christians, we should strive to be like Hufflepuffs; we should be kind, accepting, friendly, hard-working, and loyal. Again, I leave you with a challenge: the next time you see someone being left out, stand up for them and be friendly! You never know how that can make them feel. Also, tell your friends how much they mean to you. Hufflepuff rules! :)
