Ravenclaw

Rowena Ravenclaw was the founder of Ravenclaw house. She was a Scottish witch, and she was good friends with Helga Hufflepuff. She was known for her wit and creativity, and theories suggest that she came up with Hogwarts's name and location by dreaming of a wart-covered hog leading her to a cliff by the lake. Statues and portraits depict her as being beautiful, but slightly intimidating. She was also very forgiving and she was protective of her daughter, Helena Ravenclaw (the Grey Lady).
It's finally time to talk about my favorite character! Luna Lovegood is absolutely fantastic in every way. She comes from Ravenclaw. She is called "Loony Lovegood" by some people because of her interesting appearance and ideas. We first meet her in a thestral-pulled carriage on her way to Hogwarts. When Harry asks what is pulling the carriage and no one can see it, Luna Lovegood says her famous opening line: "You're just as sane as I am." When Harry looks up at her and sees her reading a magazine upside down, wearing a butterbeer cork necklace, and wearing radishes in her ears, he isn't comforted at all. Later, when Harry takes a walk in the forest, he sees Luna Lovegood there barefoot (her shoes were stolen by bullies) feeding thestrals. When Harry asks her where her shoes are, she says that she suspects the nargles are behind it. (No one knows what nargles are!) She then tells him that she believes everything he says about Lord Voldemort and that he has her support. She fights alongside him in Dumbledore's Army. Her patronus takes the form of a rabbit. She believes in wrackspurts (tiny creatures that float in your ears and make your brain go all fuzzy.) She sleepwalks, skips through the halls, and wears giant lion hats. Luna Lovegood is a great character. She proves that not all Ravenclaws are pompous know-it-alls. She is humble, sweet, friendly, and clever. Some underestimate her intelligence, but she proves to be wise, clever, curious, open-minded, and willing to stand up for what she believes in. She's not just a Ravenclaw; she's the best Ravenclaw in the entire series (in my opinion)!
Ravenclaws are known for their wisdom. Whenever I think about Ravenclaw, I think of a certain Bible character. God came to King Solomon and told him he could have anything he wanted. He could have asked for riches, palaces, the entire world- but he simply asked for wisdom so he could rule his people. God gave him wisdom, and he was a great king. Wisdom is a great thing to have. Today, go learn something! A day without learning anything is a day wasted. :)
