More Random Stuff

This is my balalaika. It is a three stringed Russian instrument that my dear friend Earline's husband brought back from a trip to Russia in the early 1970's. Her husband was a C-141 loadmaster who accompanied President Richard Nixon on his historic trip to Russia, so this instrument has an interesting history. It produces a very interesting sound and looks pretty cool, too!
These are some windchimes that we have in our back yard. The little piece of wood fell off years ago, so I replaced it with a horse shoe that I found in the stables at the place where I took horseback riding lessons.
My friend calls this the "hippie bag." I bought it when we were both in Savannah, Georgia and I wear it whenever I go shopping. I like the way it is very colorful and big enough to carry a few books.
One of my friends is a huge fan of Doctor Who (and so am I!) so he sketched this picture of David Tennant, who played the tenth doctor.
All geeks (and normal people, too!) should have a lava lamp. When I was little, Wal-Mart always had an aisle with cool electric lighting effect stuff, like those glass balls that had lightning dancing around inside them and disco balls. I had wanted a lava lamp for a very long time, and them my mom bought it for me and I was so excited! Unfortunately, I pulled the cord out of the plug at a bad angle, and it was bent so I couldn't use it anymore. It sat in my closet for years until last Christmas, when my dad gave me a multi-tool. I used the pliers to repair it and now it works perfectly! It's really relaxing to watch.
